  • i could understand it when biden was running; that guy was responsible for whipping up so much anti-gay hate that people back in the day thought that he was too rabidly conservative to be president when he tried running for president in the past; but now the overton window has shifted so far to the right the people call him progressive and the gays he’s fucked over will never vote for him; it’s only the young or the gays lucky enough to never experience his anti-gay fervor that wanted to vote for him.

  • how she contrasts with cheney has little impact on the genocide; future the cia induced coups; nor the continuing widening wealth gap; etc.

cheney is an accelerant and aoc is an inhibitor to the same child bombing, rich guy party we’re calling a country since people like cheney hold all of he cards and the best people like aoc can hope for is play along and act surprised each time they re-discover that the game is rigged toward’s cheney’s side each time people like aoc fail and cling on increasingly rarer watered down victories to justify the relatively tiny distinctions between the two.

<SARCASM> and even when they fail it’s simply because you didn’t vote hard enough and ABSOLUTELY NOT because your vote is diminished or suppressed because only lazy non-voting americans are simply too lazy to overcome studied, coordinated, and court-busting-proven astro-turfed national conservative movements financed by unknown multi-milion/bilion dollar interests in coordination with most states and the federal governments since 1980, all intent on keeping them from voting…</SARCASM>

if that were all they touched, it would be fine; but i’ve lost track of the number of times i setup a linux system for newbies and got emergency phone calls that the install was broken only to discover that they clicked on some kde setting somewhere that they both forgot about and didn’t understand.

it’s sort of like people deleting the windows folder on a windows system because they don’t think that they use it.

If it’s you’re first install go with gnome since it’s intentionally simplified.

You WILL get lost in all of the customization options that are available in KDE and most xwindows environments if you have no experience w anything besides Windows or Mac

  • That judge is smart enough to know that if he decides against the next president of the United States then he can kiss is career goodbye.

Trump is still the favorite to win thanks to the electoral college and this judge knows that; so he’s not going to do anything to jeopardize his position like any other judge in this country would do.

It lays bare the inherent contradictions of our legal system and all of the legal professionals would prefer it that we didn’t pay attention, but merchan doesn’t have that luxury so he’s going to play it safe to protect himself; to the detriment the rest of the country as Trump himself has done

I’ve installed Gentoo, fedora and Debian on powerpc and Intel Macs a couple times in my past.

The Intel Macs were no more difficult than Windows machines and the powerpc Macs required an extra step for yaboot and time to fiddle with an of the services; but still not difficult.

  • google and nvidia both do.

i don’t know if it’s still true; but they gave their employees 2 computers where their workstations were usually linux and their laptops were either linux or mac if they were engineers. it was their choice to decide what to get; but they usually went along with whatever their peers where using; except for non-engineers who always wanted macs no matter what, even if their windows machines were newer and better by miles.

  • It’s not a laptop; it’s a mini desktop that I obtained to serve as a wifi router; storage server; firewall; VPN; media server; remote file storage; and my cat’s favorite warm napping surface.

the wifi nic is embedded on the motherboard and it was chosen since it included a high gain antenna; among other qualities.

Wifi works fine if you use it in ordinary client mode w full Linux support and the hardware is capable of fully supporting ap mode in older Linux kernels; it’s just that Intel decided remove higher speed ap mode support in the latest versions of the driver to force people to buy thier more expensive wifi nics.
