Dude, I’m ON YOUR SIDE. Don’t attack me because I’m trying to explain why we’re not burning down the capital building.
I WANT there to be big improvements, and yes, I just got back from a trip to Europe and actually sat down and talked to locals over there.
I personally have very good vacation time, comparable to Europe, that I use.
I personally have very good health care, probably better than many areas of Europe. I have used it. I understand the limitations of the various systems and for me, personally, it wouldn’t be an advantage to move to most other countries.
There are MANY MANY people in the US that are in my same situation. But I also believe that even one person that doesn’t have the same access that I do is one too many, and the US system isn’t built to support them.
Me moving to another country will NOT improve my situation, but it will hinder my ability to push for change for the other 300 million.
One thing you have to realize is that a LOT of Americans HAVE very good health care and good vacation time. I do. I don’t have to worry about either of those things.
In fact, there’s a lot about the US healthcare system that is actually better than other countries. If I want (not need) an MRI, I can literally get one today.
Healthcare is more widely distributed in almost every other country, and I really really wish that we could get our shit together and separate healthcare from employment, I am voting, and donating, and I even went to a few protests about it.
I have vacation time. Many of my coworkers don’t even use up all their vacation time. They don’t want to, cause they have an unhealthy relationship with work, but it is available to them.
I live in a state that specifically passed laws (that I supported, and voted for) that specifically say we support gender affirming care and abortion rights, even for people traveling from states that don’t have those protections.
The US isn’t one place, every state has it’s own laws that protect people in different ways. Many of the cities also have their own protections as well.
I can move somewhere to get the exact same thing I have now, or I can stay here and keep pushing to help get EVERYONE else in this country the same quality of life that I have. And that’s what I’m going to do.
Whoa, really??? I guess I just assumed nothing changed in the last 5 years. I need to look into that.
Not the only use cases, but you’d need a different service if you need/want wildcard certs, certs that are manually installed and managed, or certs with a longer expiration.
Weird, I had no problem reading the article with a VPN and uBlock Origin turned on.
If you have the option, fill out the mail in ballot at home, but then bring it into an official ballot drop off location.
Tell that to Martha Stewart and Elon Musk.
SEC isn’t a savior, but they do enforce the law when it’s blatant.
If there’s a single copy of a comic book that sells for $1,000 that doesn’t mean you can sell 100 of them for that price.
If there’s a couple dozen shares of a stock selling for $15, that doesn’t mean there’s enough buyers to pay for a million of them at that price.
If trump dumps all his shares, the stock price will crash, and eventually there won’t be ANYONE to buy the stock and the price will be effectively $0.
A bunch of that paper is over my head - but they do seem to say that the change is sustained (with or without more doses???) EDIT: single dose has lasting effects /EDIT and that there may be encouragement for increases in social engagement for ASD humans with a therapeutic LSD dose.
Someone has to buy the stock that he sells. It doesn’t magically turn into money cause it has a listed value that day.
Sure, there can be some money laundering and foreign “investments” but the SEC really doesn’t like stock manipulation.
Does he actually know how to drive anything bigger than a golf cart?
It was an official act as part of his presidency, he should be immune.
They’ve spent 80 years looking for a successor to Hitler and never found one.
Sometimes building a cult around an individual doesn’t work out long term for a movement.
Can’t wait until all these losers finally realize trump is done and crawl back into the shadows
Well, I guess we’re about a week away from Vance having a gay affair scandal.
except only 1/3rd of the senators are elected during this cycle, but all the house of reps are elected.
So people that were elected in the Senate in 2020 and 2022 will get a vote for the 2024 election results in that situation.
You’d think so, but he’s been like this forever.
This didn’t sink his 2016 campaign and his NUMEROUS mentions of hate for wounded, captured, or dead soldiers won’t in 2024.
Trump, for some unfathomable reason, is immune from things that would destroy the career of anyone else.
Been using a VPN since the start, never had a problem posting.
Party leadership knows Trump is bad for them, so they will not support him.
Rank and file appear to have more Trump supporters than Harris (or Biden prior to the switch.)
Therefore the teamsters feel that they’re screwed if they endorse either one.
The article is worth a read.
